Platform Accelerating Rural Access to Distributed & InteGrated Medical care. Twelve teams across five technical areas, one brief: deliver hospital-level care where there is no hospital.
Before there was a vehicle there was an idea on paper: a modular mobile medical system: a rugged Care Delivery Platform built the way an aircraft carrier is built, in blocks, out of interchangeable modules. Drive the chassis in, drop in MRI, CT, or mammography, and let the community decide what rolls up to the curb. This is what we put in the application.

Mission Mobile Medical is awarded up to $26M to build the program’s Care Delivery Platform. MARCUS (Mobile Access to Revolutionary Care Connecting US) is the vehicle the rest of the program plugs into.
Every PARADIGM team in one room for the first time. Two days to turn twelve separate proposals into one program.


Modular, all-electric platform concepts developed with partners including Duke University School of Medicine: pods that swap in and out like cars on a train, so one chassis serves many missions. Inside, the same discipline: a care experience designed around the person walking in, not the equipment.

Team MARCUS brings the partners together on our own floor: engineers, clinicians, and researchers walking the build and pressure-testing the plan in person, then taking it on the road.

The platform moves under its own power for the first time.
ARPA-H comes to Kernersville to see the work in person: the module open, the systems live, the questions hard. At the end of it, a ceremonial key: Specialty Care Unit, Module 01, powered by PARADIGM.









MARCUS rolled onto campus for CancerX, where our team walked partners through the specialty care module and presented the Path to Market for rural hospital-level care: cancer, obstetrics, wound care, and home hospital. Mission Mobile Medical was named a winner.
